🌿 Emily McLean | Provisional Psychologist

Master of Educational & Developmental Psychology Candidate, Monash University

Emily McLean is a provisional psychologist completing her Master of Educational & Developmental Psychology at Monash University. She works under the supervision of clinic director and educational and developmental psychologist, Dr Andrea Sadusky. Emily is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families to thrive both emotionally and academically.

Drawing on her background as a primary school teacher, behavioural therapist, tutor, and university educator, Emily brings a practical understanding of the challenges young people can face at school, at home, and in their broader communities.

Emily provides counselling, psychological intervention, and comprehensive assessments. She has particular interests in learning difficulties, emotional wellbeing, social-emotional development, and early intervention. Emily values helping young people better understand their strengths and challenges while working collaboratively with families, teachers, and other professionals to develop meaningful and achievable supports.

Her approach is warm, evidence-based, and strengths-focused. Emily draws on a range of therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and other developmentally appropriate interventions.

Emily is particularly passionate about supporting students with learning differences and helping families navigate educational pathways. She believes psychological assessment can be a powerful tool for building self-understanding, identifying support needs, and creating practical strategies that promote confidence, wellbeing, and learning success.
