🌿 Dr Andrea Sadusky | Educational & Developmental Psychologist

PhD, Master of Psychology (Educational & Developmental), Board-Approved Supervisor

Dr Andrea Sadusky is a registered Educational and Developmental Psychologist with a strong interest in supporting children, teens, and adults who experience barriers in learning, executive functioning, and mental health. Her clinical practice is grounded in both lived client experience and robust research, with a particular focus on neurodivergence, assessment science, and therapeutic care.

Andrea has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, especially in the area of Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. She uses a Cross Battery Assessment (XBA) approach guided by the Cattell-Horn-Carroll (CHC) theory of intelligence to ensure all relevant cognitive domains are captured — going well beyond standard WISC-V protocols. Her assessments integrate cognitive testing, academic achievement, executive functioning, emotional wellbeing, and behavioural data to provide clients with a full picture of their strengths and needs.

Andrea is passionate about demystifying assessment results and transforming them into meaningful, actionable insights. She works collaboratively with clients and families to develop personalised strategies that promote confidence, independence, and learning success.

In therapy, Andrea supports clients experiencing ADHD, anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, academic stress, and career uncertainty. She draws on evidence-based modalities including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Andrea is also a Board-Approved Supervisor and actively supports provisional psychologists completing their training placements.

Her PhD research focused on improving methods for identifying and diagnosing dyslexia in adults — addressing a significant gap in both clinical tools and practitioner training. In addition to her doctoral work, Andrea has co-authored research on trauma-informed care, school-based interventions, cultural competence, burnout, psychological flexibility, internet gaming addiction, and reflective practice.
